This website will be my foundation for teaching 8th grade health along with 6th, 7th, and 8th grade PE.

First off a little bit about myself. My name is Travis Hubbard and this is my 5th year teaching here at Windsor Knolls. I grew up in Frederick County, MD where I attended Walkersville high school and then went on to college at Frederick Community College and then to Towson university to get my Bachelors degree to teach PE/health. I am an avid outdoors-men and love being outside, some of my greatest passions are baseball and football.

My goal for creating this website is to help incorporate technology into my daily lessons to help create a student centered learning environment that facilitates student learning.
For my health class my goal is to create a classroom that not only incorporates but facilitates using technology to help students learn about wellness, drugs, and family life. Recently our health program was the recipient of an active slate to use in the classroom, one of my goals is to make all of my health lesson using Active Inspire software to create lesson that are student engaging.

For my PE classes my goal is to create unique active learning scenarios where student can incorporate the use of their own devices in PE class. For example students will be using heart rate monitors, fitness apps, pulse bars and videos for peer evaluation. This year our PE department applied for a grant to incorporate technology and we each received Ipad minis to help incorporate technology into our gymnasium.
